Ibrahim, a fun-loving and talented percussionist in his early twenties, grew up listening to the melodic Sufi chants of Aleppo. Passionate about the preservation of this ancient spiritual music, Ibrahim founded Nawa Ensemble in his late teens. The group was forced to disband with the start of the conflict and Ibrahim moved to Gaziantep, Turkey, less than 100 km away from Aleppo. He shares a small humble apartment with his wise music master, Sheikh Seif, and dreams of ways to keep this rare music alive.
